Preparation matters
Your skincare before needling makes all the difference
Skin needling has incredible potential, but results depend heavily on preparation. Using the right skincare before and after treatment strengthens the skin barrier, reduces recovery time and maximises collagen stimulation.
All skin needling clients need to begin with a personalised skin consultation and use the prescribed skincare for at least one month before their first treatment.

Why do I need a skin consultation before skin needling?
To ensure skin needling is safe and suitable for you. Depending on your skin or health, it may not be recommended. Sarah will discuss your health history and assess your skin before any treatments are booked in.
Why do I need to be on prescribed skincare for at least a month first?
A strong, healthy skin barrier is essential before needling. Most clients have an impaired barrier without knowing it. Using the correct skincare for a month gives your skin time to repair and strengthen ensuring you get the best possible results from the treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients benefit from 3–6 sessions with at least 8 weeks between treatments. The exact number depends on your skin concerns and will be discussed in your consultation.
Is there any downtime?
You may notice some redness or sensitivity for up to 48 hours after treatment. There are a few things to avoid afterwards, Sarah will talk you through all of this before you leave.
Does it hurt?
No topical numbing cream is used, but you may feel some vibration. The Exceed device is specifically designed to avoid microtears in the skin, making it significantly more comfortable than standard needling pens.
Are results permanent?
For scars that fade after needling, results are usually permanent. For other concerns like fine lines and firmness, maintenance sessions will help sustain and continue improving results over time.
Can skin needling be combined with LED?
LED is not included in skin needling treatments. Because LED is anti-inflammatory, using it straight after needling can reduce the temporary inflammation that actually drives the collagen-stimulating results.
